Dwight E. Allgood, 82, retired logger

      Dwight Edward Allgood, a retired logger, died of cancer Wednesday at the Valley Rehabilitation and Living Center at Lewiston. He was 82.

      He was a Lewiston resident since 1974, and previously he worked for Potlatch Corp. at Headquarters, Idaho, for 48 years.

      He was born July 3, 1909, at Indianapolis, Iowa, to Emmauel E. and Nina D. Reynolds Allgood.

      He attended school through the 10th grade in Iowa.

      In 1926, he moved to Weippe and went to work for Potlatch at Headquarters. He married Ruby Carey at Lewiston in 1933. She died in 1960.

      He married Alice Marion Anderson in Lewiston on July 7, 1978.

      He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, yard work and activities with his family.

      Survivors include his wife, Alice M. Allgood of Lewiston; a son, Ernest P. Allgood of Pineville, Mo.; a brother, Ernest E. Allgood of Seal Beach, Calif.; a sister, Laura Gravitt of Newton, Iowa; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

      Two sons, Dwight and David Allgood, and two brothers, Cecil and Orville Allgood, died previously.

      A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston.

      The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Joseph Family Hospice, P.P. Box 816, Lewiston, Idaho 83501.

      Mountain View Funeral Home at Lewiston is in charge of arrangements.
